Assistive Technology

Assistive Technology (AT) is a generic term that includes assistive ,adaptive,and rehabilitative devices for people with disabilities and includes the process used in selecting ,locating and using them.The following technology is adapted for K-12 students.
1)Curb cuts.
2)Text telephone(TDD) used for hard of hearing persons.
3)Speech recognition software for person with mobility impairment.
4)Spell checking and speech synthesis software for persons with learning disabilities and visual impairments.
5)Lekotek -Toys used for children with disabilities.
6)Ergonomic accessories -height adjustable furniture,wrist rests and arm support.
7)Foot mouse.
8)Robot aided rehabilitation.
9) Audiometer.
10)Fire alarm paging system.
